Organised by Northway Parish Council, the week will feature a wide range of free activities for all ages, from sports and dance to yoga and fitness sessions. There’s no need to book—simply drop in and join the fun, although some sessions will have limited spaces and will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
The week begins on Monday 30 March with Circus Skills and African Drumming from 10am to 12 noon at Northway Playing Field.
On Tuesday 31 March, activities include Scooter Lessons (9:30–10:15am) and Skateboard Lessons at Northway Skatepark — Beginners (10:20–11:05am) and Non-Beginners (11:00–11:55am). Later in the day there will be Multisports (10am–12 noon) at Northway Playing Field, followed by Street Dance sessions at Northway Village Hall for Under 10s (1pm–2:10pm) and Over 10s (2:20pm–2:30pm).
On Wednesday 1 April, adults can enjoy Dance Fitness (10:30–11:30am) and Gentle Yoga (12 noon–1pm) at Northway Village Hall. Participants are encouraged to bring their own yoga mat if possible.
The week finishes on Thursday 2 April with Pilates (10:30–11:30am) and Chair Yoga (12 noon–1pm), both taking place at Northway Village Hall.
Throughout the week there will also be Table Tennis bats and balls available for use on the outdoor Table Tennis Table which is on site.
All activities are free of charge, thanks to funding from the Active Gloucestershire “We Can Move” programme, supported by Tewkesbury Borough Council. Sessions will also involve partners including World Jungle and Team Rubicon.
Whether you want to try a new sport, get active, or simply meet people in the community, Northway’s Active Week is a great opportunity to get involved. Everyone is welcome to come along and give it a go.
